SundaySchoolUpdates.com is an enrichment website for Catholic families preparing children for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. It is written for parents to teach to their own children. All are welcome!
Hello and welcome to Sunday School Updates! I am Connie Goldin—“Mom” to grown sons, wife to David, Grandma to two beautiful granddaughters, convert to Catholicism in 2014, and parent educator from 2009-2018. I dissolved my nonprofit organization, Mom to Madre, in March, 2019. After nine years of community education, outreach, and book donations, I am excited to have moved to Florida in November 2018. Prior to the impact of the Covid 19 virus, I was active in my new church, getting to know more people by being an usher; and was teaching a religious education class for second and third graders preparing for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion for my church. I am again happy and enjoying teaching in a classroom. I have a great time creating art projects for SundaySchoolUpdates.com; and learning more about my chosen religion, Catholicism. My husband and I love seeing the wildlife of South Florida, which is all around us.
I am eager to continue reaching out and teaching via my website, SundaySchoolUpdates.com. Families who homeschool, want Catechism enrichment for their children, or are interested in the Catechism of the Catholic church for themselves, can all find something interesting and hopefully new. I am using materials from the Catechism of the Catholic Church, The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, the writings of Pope Francis for Children, and many other excellent sources.
I have two awesome people who have been my wonderful teachers: My deceased father-in-law, Professor Judah Goldin, who was a renowned expert on Judaism and the Torah, and helped me learn about the Old Testament; and my son, Father William Goldin, who was ordained a priest in 2014 and received his Doctorate degree in June 2017 in Rome, who helps me with my Catholic questions. Both have helped me so much on my religious journey. It’s so nice to have a priest whom I can call, whenever the whim hits me, for any theological question, since I am his mom!
