“I am the good shepherd, says the Lord”– “Jesus said: ‘My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish. No one can take them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can take them out of the Father’s hand. The Father and I are one.’” Source: USCCB, John, Chapter 10:27-30 This is a simple painting on watercolor paper using colored watercolor pencils, a black fine point Sharpie, washed with watercolor paint.

You’ll need strong paper or cardboard, solid tempera sticks, crayons, or markers, and glue. Cut out a picture of the Lamb of God or a lamb, and cut around the image. Then glue it onto the paper. Decorate as desired. Fun, fast, and easy! I used Kwik Stix tempera sticks, which dry smooth in 90 seconds.
“Passover Haggadah” by Rabbi Nathan Goldberg, English and Hebrew Translation and Instructions for the Seder, Published by Ktav Publishing House, 1984—a Haggadah is a booklet that is the liturgy of the Jewish Passover. It is read out loud throughout the Passover meal, which is called the “Seder.” It is also known as a “ritual feast” The animal depicted is a gazelle, which has many references in the Old Testament, or “Torah.” The liturgy of the “Last Supper” includes the passage: “At the supper on the night he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus, loving those who were his own in the world even to the end, offered his Body and Blood to the Father under the appearance of bread and wine, gave them to the apostles to eat and drink, then enjoined the apostles and their successors in the priesthood to offer them in turn.” Source: USCCB “The Roman Missal and the Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper”

Our Art Project–Psalm 23 Art
Above, I copied and printed out Psalm 23 from the students’ workbook, Blessed First Reconciliation, Dynamic Catholic, Page 134. I used scissors that make the ragged edge, then I glued it to watercolor paper for decorating. I used symbols that are present in Psalm 23, such as water, palm trees, rugs, campfire, cold night and a hot sun.
Our Materials–Use whatever supplies you have at home. The following art supplies are suggestions.
