Our Prayers
“The Apostles’ Creed” is a profession of our faith and is a prayer. It states the basic beliefs of the Catholic Church. 
“The Glory Be” Prayer
This prayer gives all glory and praise to God. It is a simple prayer that children can learn easily and they can cross themselves when they pray it, out loud, or privately in their hearts.

“THE HOLY TRINITY IN THE TEACHING OF THE FAITH”
“The Trinity is One. We do not confess three Gods, but one God in three persons, the ‘consubstantial Trinity’.83 The divine persons do not share the one divinity among themselves but each of them is God whole and entire: ‘The Father is that which the Son is, the Son that which the Father is, the Father and the Son that which the Holy Spirit is, i.e. by nature one God.'”84
“By calling God ‘Father’, the language of faith indicates two main things: that God is the first origin of everything and transcendent authority; and that he is at the same time goodness and loving care for all his children. God’s parental tenderness can also be expressed by the image of motherhood,62 which emphasizes God’s immanence, the intimacy between Creator and creature. The language of faith thus draws on the human experience of parents, who are in a way the first representatives of God for man. But this experience also tells us that human parents are fallible and can disfigure the face of fatherhood and motherhood. We ought therefore to recall that God transcends the human distinction between the sexes. He is neither man nor woman: he is God. He also transcends human fatherhood and motherhood, although he is their origin and standard:63 no one is father as God is Father.”

Parents, please read this to younger children, explaining as you go. It’s an excellent explanation of a complex mystery!
“A family of love.”
“Today is Trinity Sunday! If you look carefully at the word “Trinity,” you can see that it is made from two other words: “Tri” meaning, “three” (as in “tricycle” and “Triceratops”), and “unity” which means “joined together as one.” That may not seem important to some people, but it is a tremendous joy for us! God has shown to those who believe in Jesus that he is love! God is not a selfish, lonely King, but a family of love. God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The three Persons of the Trinity are a family–and through our Baptism, God has made us members of this family. In baptism, God gives us grace, which is a share in his very life. With this grace, we find strength to love God and one another–in other words, to live as members of God’s family. What a gift it is to be children of God.”

Our Art Project
The cross is a symbol of Jesus Christ. Children might want to draw a simple heart as a symbol of their love for Jesus, or they can draw the Sacred Heart of Jesus, with the cross at the top of the heart and the “radiance” around the heart. The Holy Spirit has several symbols. I used the symbol of flames from the “tongues of fire” of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. The dove is also a symbol of the Holy Spirit, but it is harder to draw. If using pastels, have your child use his or her finger to smear the pastel for a smooth effect.

Invite your family members to do a good deed for others this week at home and at school. Perhaps they can sweep up litter on their block, or ask to help the teacher with a simple job, such as emptying the class trash can.
