“The Lord Is My Shepherd”
Our Readings–USCCB John, Chapter 10:14, 27-30
“I am the good shepherd, says the Lord;
I know my sheep, and mine know me.”
Gospel of John
“Jesus said:
‘My sheep hear my voice;
I know them, and they follow me.
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish.
No one can take them out of my hand.
My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all,
and no one can take them out of the Father’s hand.
The Father and I are one.’”

Our Art Project–Psalm 23 Art
Above, I copied and printed out Psalm 23 from the students’ workbook, Blessed First Reconciliation, Dynamic Catholic, Page 134. I used scissors that make the ragged edge, then I glued it to watercolor paper for decorating. I used symbols that are present in Psalm 23, such as water, palm trees, rugs, campfire, cold night and a hot sun.
Our Materials–Use whatever supplies you have at home. The following art supplies are suggestions.
Suggested Family Activities
Please read the following passage with your child or children:
“The Shepherd”
“The Jews in Jesus’ time would often see a shepherd watching over his sheep or goats. With a good shepherd, the flock is safe and has everything it needs. The Bible uses the image of a shepherd to speak about leaders, such as kings and prophets. God promised to send his people good shepherds, the greatest of whom is Jesus.”
